Our story, values, and the people who make us one of Kwara State's finest secondary schools.
Al-Musteqim Model School was founded in 2001 by a group of visionary Islamic scholars and educationists who saw the need for a school that would seamlessly blend world-class academic education with strong Islamic moral values.
Established in the heart of Oke-Fomo, Ilorin — a city renowned across Nigeria for its rich Islamic heritage and scholarly tradition — the school quickly gained a reputation for academic rigour, moral discipline, and holistic student development.
Over the past 25 years, Al-Musteqim has grown from a small school with three classrooms and forty students into a thriving institution enrolling over 1,200 students across JSS1 to SS3. We have produced graduates who have gone on to study Medicine, Engineering, Law, and various other disciplines at the finest universities in Nigeria and abroad.
Today, we stand as a beacon of educational excellence in Kwara State, consistently delivering outstanding WAEC and NECO results and winning state and national competitions across academics, sports, and the arts.
To provide a world-class, values-driven secondary education that equips students with the knowledge, skills, and character necessary to excel academically, contribute meaningfully to society, and live as upright, God-conscious individuals.
To be the most respected secondary school in Kwara State — an institution where academic brilliance and strong moral character are inseparably linked, producing graduates who are the pride of their families, communities, and the Nigerian nation.
"Knowledge, Character & Faith"
Our motto encapsulates everything we stand for — intellectual excellence rooted in strong moral and Islamic values that produce truly great human beings.
These eight values guide everything we do — from how we teach and lead to how we relate to our students and their families.
We hold the highest standards for learning and continuously challenge our students to achieve beyond what they believe possible.
We cultivate truthfulness, transparency, and moral uprightness in all aspects of school life and personal conduct.
Our educational philosophy is anchored in Islamic teachings that promote justice, compassion, respect, and service to humanity.
We inspire students to give back to their communities and see their education as a tool for positive societal transformation.
Every member of our community — student, teacher, or parent — is treated with dignity, fairness, and genuine respect.
We encourage curiosity, original thinking, and the courage to explore new ideas in pursuit of knowledge and solutions.
Self-discipline and personal responsibility are cornerstones of the Al-Musteqim character, shaping mature and dependable individuals.
We believe in lifelong learning and constantly seek to improve our teaching, facilities, and student support systems.

"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world — and at Al-Musteqim, we pair that power with the wisdom and values of our faith."
It is my profound honour to lead this outstanding institution. For over two decades, Al-Musteqim Model School has stood as a testament to what is possible when a community commits itself to educational excellence and moral development.
We do not measure our success solely by examination results, though those are impressive. We measure it in the quality of character, the depth of critical thinking, and the sense of purpose that our graduates carry with them into the world. We challenge every student to be the very best version of themselves — academically, morally, and spiritually.
Our dedicated team of teachers are not merely instructors; they are mentors, role models, and architects of the next generation. I am deeply proud of what we have built together, and I am excited about the future we are creating for every child who walks through our gates.
